The brief: A Plywood Kitchen

Brigid and David were put in touch with us via a designer friend of theirs. Having inherited their existing kitchen 16 years ago they had worked with their friend on a provisional design for a new kitchen.

They wanted our support to progress their ideas and take it forward to a refined kitchen design, bespoke build and final fit.

Following an in depth phone call with Brigid and David’s to really understand their requirements we knew from the outset that this project would shape up to be a unique Plywood Kitchen.

The Vision

Brigid and David came to us with a clear vision for their Plywood kitchen. They were keen to ensure there was practical storage and that everything had a home so that cooking was enjoyable and efficient.

They wanted a colourful design which was unique to them. The floor and the wall tiles were to be kept in the new kitchen so we had to take this into account when designing and helping choose the final colours on the plywood cabinet fronts.

To meet their brief we opted to use Formica laminate for the cabinet door and drawer fronts as it gave them the desired pallet they were looking for.

An additional pull out work surface was included on the peninsula to create some more working space when needed and we suggested using a Bora X Pure with downdraft extraction rather than taking up much needed wall storage space above the hob.
